Fiat Bravo primeşte în 2016 un succesor construit în Turcia

Tofas, joint-venture-ul FIat din Turcia, va investi un miliard de dolari în dezvoltarea unui succesor al lui Bravo, care va fi oferit în versiuni hatcback, berlină şi break pe piaţa din Europa. Debutul este programat pentru anul 2016.

 

Fiat Bravo va primi un succesor în 2016, care va fi construit în Turcia de Tofas, joint-venture-ul din ţara respectivă al celor de la Fiat, titrează Automotive News. Compania Tofas va investi un miliard de dolari pentru dezvoltarea şi producţia noului model, care va fi construit în principal pentru export în Europa. Succesorul lui Bravo va avea versiuni berlină, hatchback şi break, precizează cei de la Automotive News citând surse din cadrul companiei turceşti. În timp ce versiunea hatchback îl va înlocui pe Bravo, berlina va fi înlocuitorul lui Linea, iar Croma va fi înlocuită de break-ul din gama viitoare Bravo.

Cei de la Tofas au anunţat în 2013 că vor să construiască 580.000 de unităţi ale viitoarei berline, în timp ce versiunile hatchback şi break ale viitorului Bravo ar trebui să atingă hotarul de 700.000 de unităţi produse. Programul de investiţii care totalizează un miliard de euro va fi derulat din 2016 până în 2023, care pare să fie sinonim cu viitorul ciclu de producţie al succesorului lui Bravo. O declaraţie a oficialilor Tofas pentru Automotive News confirmă faptul că tratativele cu Fiat Chrysler Automobiles sunt în ultimele faze înainte de aprobarea definitivă, fiind definitivate ultimele condiţii ale investiţiei.

 

Fiat pregăteşte revenirea modelelor Bravo şi Punto, dar până atunci lansează 500X

 

Producţia generaţiei Bravo lansate în 2009, care avea loc la fabrica Fiat din Cassino (Italia), a fost oprită în luna iulie a anului curent. Cei de la Fiat au confirmat că Bravo va avea un succesor încă din 2011, italienii fiind nemulţumiţi de rezultatele de vânzări ale compactei lor şi promiţând un model mai radical, precum a fost Nissan Qashqai la momentul debutului său pe piaţă. Până să construiască urmaşul lui Bravo şi derivatele sale, fabrica Tofas din Turcia construieşte modelele Linea, Doblo şi Fiorino, precum şi modelele Citroen Nemo, Peugeot Bipper şi Opel/Vauxhall Combo.

Fiat Introduces 500 Ribelle and 500L Urbana Trekking Special Editions in Miami

Fiat has introduced two new special edition models at the Miami Auto Show, the 500 Ribelle and 500L Urbana Trekking, with both featuring unique exterior and interior features.

As its name suggests, the 500 Ribelle is said to highlight the rebellious side of the Fiat 500, featuring red and gloss black exterior accents. Based on the Fiat 500 Pop, the 500 Ribelle has red roof, spoiler and mirror caps complemented by gloss black headlamp and tail lamp bezels, as well as gloss black wheels with red wheel caps.

Available in four exterior colors (white, billet silver, gray and gloss black), the Ribelle has either gray/black or gray/red interior environments. The limited-production 2015 Fiat 500 Ribelle will be available in studios in December with a $17,395 starting starting price (not including destination).

The Fiat 500L Urbana Trekking is based on the 500L Trekking and features unique black accents and six exterior colors. Black accents include the exterior mirrors and bezels on the front and rear fascia, side sills, body-side molding and 17-inch wheels. The door handles, tail lamp bezels and accents on the front and rear fascia are in Satin Chrome.

The model is available with six paint colors, including Forest Green Pearl, Deep Lava Red, yellow, white, Gray Metallic and Blue Tornado, paired with a black roof.

Inside, the 500L Urbana Trekking gains black leather steering wheel, leatherette door bolsters and cloth seats, as well as a gloss black bezel on the instrument panel for vehicles with glossy exterior paints. The car features the Beats Audio system as standard, along with SiriusXM Radio. The 2015 Fiat 500L Urbana Trekking will be available in Fiat studios in the first quarter of 2015 from $22,795 (not including destination).

“Enjoy”, the Eni car sharing scheme, comes to Florence

185 thousand members and 1 and a half million rentals in Milan and Rome

 

Enjoy, Eni's car sharing scheme implemented in partnership with Fiat and Trenitalia, was introduced in Florence only a few days ago, with a fleet that will include 200 Fiat 500s when complete. The Tuscan capital is the third city, after Milan and Rome, to revolutionise mobility with a car sharing service featuring free online registration, competitive rates and a simple, immediate customer experience.

 

The initiative was officially presented today in the Sala d'Arme at Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria in an event attended by city mayor Dario Nardella and representatives of Eni, Fiat and Trenitalia.

 

The Enjoy car sharing service in Florence will work the same way as the schemes already in place in Milan and Rome: users will be able to locate and book the nearest vehicle using a smartphone app (for Android, iOS and Windows Phone) or via the web site enjoy.eni.com. They can also choose to pick up a free vehicle on the street and start using it right away. The cars have free access to the ZTL limited traffic zone in the city centre and can be left in any permitted parking space, including spaces reserved for residents and pay parking spots marked in blue, in the area covered by the service when no longer needed or temporarily in "park" mode. The area covered by the service in Florence is about 56 square km, and all the Fiat 500s in the fleet in Florence have euro 6 approval and parking sensors and are approved for use by up to four people.

 

This efficient, innovative, sustainable service will give mobility in Florence a boost of new energy, offering the most competitive rates on the market: 25 cents a minute in motion (for the first 50 km, after which a rate of 25 cents per km also applies) and 10 cents a minute when left parked. This rate is all-inclusive, because it includes insurance, maintenance, fuel and parking.

 

Milan and Rome now number a joint total of 185 thousand members and 1 and a half million rentals.

To offer users even more benefits, Enjoy has just signed three new business partnerships. Vodafone will display its brand on Enjoy cars starting with the Florence fleet and new members who are already Vodafone customers will receive a 10 euro welcome voucher.

 

American Express will allow its customers to use their credit cards to register for Enjoy car sharing.

All members of MasterCard's Priceless Cities programme, who join the Enojy car sharing, will receive a 10 euro welcome bonus.

Ştim cu toţii gluma care susţine că numele Fiat este o abreviere de la expresia englezească „Fix It Again, Tony” şi o modalitate de a ironiza fiabilitatea constructorului. Italienii au avut însă curaj să ironizeze asta în reclama noului 500X.

The Fiat 500X and Dynamo, the stars of the "The Power of X” European Experience

 

 

 

Fiat has partnered with the world-renowned magician, Dynamo, who stars in the 500X pre-launch phase. The artist and the new crossover are set to feature in an extraordinary experience, made accessible through special virtual reality headsets to guests at the 676 European events set to take place prior to the 500X showroom debut, scheduled for next February. To mark the Fiat 500X pre-launch phase, the Fiat brand has announced its collaboration with world famous magician, Dynamo, who has been dominating the international magic scene since 2011 with his TV show "Magician Impossible". Now that "Magician Impossible" has come to an end this partnership with Fiat is Dynamo's first step in the next phase of his increasingly thrilling journey.

 

Dynamo's TV shows have been seen by over 250 million viewers across 180 countries and his incredible feats include walking on the River Thames,  predicting the outcome of the World Cup and levitating above Europe's tallest building and he is the worlds most followed magician on social media with over 4.9 million Facebook fans and 2.3 million followers on Twitter. 

 

The new Fiat Crossover and Dynamo have come together for the exciting European experience, "The Power of X". From late November, the #thepowerofX experience will take the 500X to the main squares of 74 European cities and to 602 exclusive premières hosted at Fiat dealerships all over Europe. Throughout the activity, members of the public will be able to get up close to the 500X ahead of its showroom debut scheduled for next February.

 

Guests will be able to take part in an extraordinary  experience made accessible through special Virtual Reality headsets. Using the VR headsets, guests on the "The Power of X" tour will be able to view a performance by Dynamo, who will appear, alongside the Fiat 500X, in an extraordinary interactive journey put together by Framestore, a double-Oscar winning creative studio who specialises in special effects. Fiat, Dynamo, and Framestore have created the first ever virtual reality magic experience.

 

All in the name of "X", an ancient, magical symbol which brings together Dynamo's art and the new model from the Fiat brand.  "X" represents change and transformation, but at the same time also a balance or a crossroads between opposing entities, as is the case in the new Fiat crossover, where the symbol expresses the "transversality" of a product which is ideally placed at the intersection between several different automotive segments.

 

The "X" concept is also reflected in the installation which will be assembled at each stage of the tour, as well as the backdrop set up inside participating showrooms for #thepowerofX. In both settings, participants will go on a double journey - real and virtual - to discover the new model. Not only will they be able to touch the vehicle with their bare hands, appreciating its seductive lines and high-quality materials, as well as heading out on the road with a professional driver, they'll also take part in an immersive experience that uses a Virtual Reality headset  positioned over the eyes to reproduce 360º, 3D environments.

 

This is the first time that a video of such high quality - according to Framestore, the best virtual reality product ever made - has been produced to relay in 2 minutes an encompassing story with high visual impact. Simply consider the fact that the project required 184 years' worth of computer render hours (it was completed on time thanks to the might of the Framestore render farm). As it had to be an exceptional 360 degree experience, the video boasts 4x HD resolution (4096x2048 pixels) and 60 frames per second, meaning rendering 2.4x more frames than standard 3D videos. Then there's the stereo, which doubles things again.

 

Guests will then be able to recreate this incredible virtual experience at home using the special "Cardboard" toolkits they'll receive for free at the dealership and city centre events. This original gadget comprises a piece of carefully folded cardboard containing a pair of lenses which, via a designated smartphone app, becomes a kind of virtual reality headset.

Maserati Levante, primul rival italian al lui BMW X5, se va lansa în toamna lui 2015

Maserati a confirmat oficial data de lansarea a primului său SUV. Modelul Levante, rival declarat al lui BMW X5, va fi prezentat în toamna anului viitor, urmând să ajungă pe piaţă până la finalul lui 2015.
 

De anul viitor, segmentul SUV-urilor premium va deveni şi mai aglomerat după ce Maserati va lansa Levante. Anticipat de un concept botezat Kubang, în urmă cu trei ani, noul SUV italian este în curs de dezvoltare şi ar urma să îşi facă apariţia pe piaţă, în versiune finală, abia în toamna lui 2015.

 

De altfel, oficialii Maserati au recunoscut că primul lor SUV va putea fi văzut pe stradă spre sfârşitul lui 2015. Maserati îşi pune toate speranţele în acest model, despre care spune că va face volume importante.

„Va fi cel mai vândut model al nostru pe multe pieţe. Asta pentru că promite să schimbe regulile jocului şi să atragă clienţi complet noi pentru brand. Fiind un vehicul global, se va vinde în număr mare atât în China, cât şi în Europa sau Statele Unite”, a declarat James Cowan, directorul de marketing Maserati.

Noul Levante va fi bazat pe platforma lui Ghibli, ceea ce înseamnă că va folosi multe elemente din aluminiu pentru a reduce masa totală. În lista de opţionale, clienţii vor găsi şi o tracţiune integrală Q4, folosită deja şi de Quattroporte şi de Ghibli. Ea va fi modificată însă cu ajutorul colegilor de concern de la Jeep, care dispun de o expertiză superioară în acest domeniu.

 

Tracţiunii integrale îi vor fi alăturate motoare pe benzină (un V6 de 410 cai şi un V8 de 530 de cai putere), dar şi un diesel V6 de 3.0 litri şi 271 de cai putere.

Modern, anti-conformistic design full of iconic details is one of the main reasons for the success of Jeep Renegade, which is selling very well. The model accounts for about half of total Jeep sales across Europe since it was launched, with Italy, where the car is produced, contributing for more than that.

 

The model's excellent performance was anticipated by the exclusive limited "Opening Edition" created on the top of the range Limited trim level and available at launch only, which offered a remarkably advantageous price-to-content ratio for the first two thousand orders during the first few weeks from its debut.

 

The new Renegade is also reaping the benefits of the biggest pre-launch campaign every set up in Europe for a Jeep model. Starting from June 1 -four months before it actually appeared in European showrooms - the new car starred in a number of events in Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland and Spain. Hundreds of events were staged and over 3700 test drives were organised. 

 

Nine-speed automatic transmission, for the first time in its class

For the first time in its class, Jeep Renegade fitted with a new nine-speed automatic transmission which optimises the power developed by the engine to secure brilliant pick-up and smooth, effective power delivery at motorway speeds at the same time.

 

Available on the Trailhawk and Limited versions paired with a 2.0 Multijet II 140 or 170 HP turbo diesel engine and "Jeep Active Drive Low" all-wheel drive, the new transmission ensures faster reactivity, quicker acceleration and smoother shifting. The generous differential delivers a powerful transmission ratio of 4.71 in first gear for high performance also at low rpm with short speed excursions.

 

A unique set of four overdrive ratios means better fuel efficiency on the motorway cycle and an overall reduction of noise, vibrations and hardness (NVH).

 

All electronic, the AT9 transmission implements a "shift-on-the-fly" map and allows manual shifts using the AutoStick. Over 20 single shifting maps for specific conditions optimise shifting point quality to the benefit of fuel efficiency, performance and handling.

 

The transmission software is tuned to determine the most appropriate shifting mode according to employed torque, kick downs, longitudinal and lateral accelerations and changes of grade.

 

The transmission control strategy carefully monitors temperature, speed, electronic stability control activation to improve driving comfort and attention to details. The result is automatic gear shifts which are perfectly suited to the performance requirements of the current driving style.

 

The nine-speed automatic transmission combined with the 2.0 Multijet II turbo diesel 140 or 170 HP engine is always assisted by Jeep Active Drive Low all-wheel drive. In particular, the Jeep Active Drive Low adds Hill-Descent Control capabilities to Selec-Terrain and, in the Trailhawk, implements the "Rock" mode which maximises wheel traction to obtain the best grip.

Hill-Descent Control (HDC) allows a gradual, controlled descent on rough or slippery terrain without needing to press the brake pedal. When it is activated, the car can tackle steeper hills exploiting the ABS system to control the speed of each wheel and guarantee optimal dynamics and pace.

 

Jeep Renegade Trailhawk

This is the most off-road version of the range and the best SUV in its class for all-terrain driving. Its bold looks are complemented by a comprehensive pack of off-road features, which include the Jeep Active Drive Low system with 20:1 final drive ratio, the Selec-Terrain system with exclusive Rock and Hill Descent Control modes.

 

The special features for enhancing its capabilities include ground clearance increased by 35 mm in respect to the 4x2 version, off-road suspensions, protection plates and exclusive front and rear rubbing strips in addition to aggressive approach and departure angles. The off-road capabilities of the 4x4 TrailRated are guaranteed by a first gear ratio of 4.71:1 and a final drive ratio of 20:1, the best in its class.

 

Jeep Renegade Trailhawk is exclusively fitted with a 2.0 MultiJet II 170 HP engine combined with the new nine-speed automatic transmission which is tuned to the specific peculiarities of the model. The many standard features include 17" aluminium, black painted, diamond-pattern rims, M+S tyres, dark grey roof bars, dark satin grey mirror caps, "TrailRated" badge, halogen front fog lights, 7" multiple-view premium TFT colour display, leather gear knob, rear parking sensor, tinted rear windows, red front hook and two-zone automatic climate control.

 

Optional equipment include bonnet stickers, leather seats, LaneDepartureWarning-Plus system, satellite navigator with 5" or  6.5" touchscreen (with 3D reference points), My SkyTM sunroof and open-air system and Visibility and Function packs.

 

The biggest pre-launch campaign for a Jeep model in EMEA

Before reaching showrooms across Europe, Jeep Renegade starred in the biggest pre-launch campaign ever set up in EMEA for a Jeep model. The so called "Summer Tour" across the main European markets (Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland and Spain) was kicked off on June 1 with hundreds of events organised at dealerships, product previews and placements. Over 3700 test drives were organised. The events were very successful and attracted great crowds.

 

From the launch in Geneve in March, digital activities were the first to be undertaken , obtaining more than 3mio visits to the websites and almost 30 thousands registrations.

 

The many events included a treasure hunt organised by the German market which awarded a Jeep Renegade 2.0 MultiJet "Opening Edition" to the winner. The car was found in a hidden corner of Transylvania (Romania) by two young competitors from Saxony after five days on the road, 1300 kilometres and various adventures, all in perfect harmony with the most authentic Jeep values.  

 

Also very successful was the European tour which took four Jeep Renegades to several major events a few months before production was kicked-off, like the "X-Fighter Games" in Madrid, the "Hamburg Harley Days" meeting in Germany, the exciting "Surf Worldcup Fehmarn" also in Germany, the "Surf Expo Santa Severa" in Rome, the "Carrara 4x4 Fest" in Italy and the International Boat Show in Genoa. Interestingly, the four Renegades sported special outfits which made reference to some iconic Jeep details, like the military petrol can "X" pattern and the famous US army star. 

 

Exclusive previews were organised in selected Jeep dealerships, like the "Jeep Renegade Experience Tour" in France, the "Jeep Dealer Tour" and the "Jeep Renegade Dealer Challenge" in Germany. Finally, a special installation with a huge poster (over 300 square metres) with a Jeep Renegade on top was placed in a clearly visible position on the A1 motorway from CDG airport to the Paris city centre during the Paris Motor show.

 

Last but not least, Jeep Renegade also featured at the Rolling Stones' "14 On Fire" European Tour last summer. As Presenting Sponsor and exclusive automotive partner of the tour, Jeep chose to present the new Renegade in preview at all shows after June 22 at the Circo Massimo in Rome.

The new car represents the fourth generation of a model that, launched at the end of 2000 and updated in 2005 and 2010, has seen approximately 300,000 registrations to date in the EMEA area. A winning design, that has proved able to evolve over time to meet the various demands of mobility, comfort and respect for the environment that have successively become part of contemporary society.

 

The New Doblò now offers a completely redesigned exterior and interior able to express dynamism and personality through a more distinctive form and lines. The technological equipment too is enhanced with new user-friendly content that makes any journey on board the New Doblò a pleasure. An example? The Uconnect multimedia system with 5" colour touchscreen, which, on request, can be equipped with integrated navigation and digital radio (DAB) playback.

 

An environment for living to the full for travellers, for those who love to be in company or those who choose it as their leisure time partner. Whatever your passion or task for the vehicle, the New Doblò gives you great modularity of interior space - ever a strong point of the model - offering up to 7 seats, the ample 790-litre luggage compartment (heading up the segment), the many storage compartments and the useful split rear seat (60/40).

 

What's more, the New Doblò guarantees the best handling in the category - in part thanks to Bi-link suspension, exclusive in the segment - and the enhanced well-being on board, as demonstrated by a light, airy passenger compartment with excellent climatic and acoustic comfort. As in the previous generations, the New Doblò is produced in the Tofaş plant in Bursa, Turkey, one of the best industrial automotive sites in the world, as demonstrated by the Gold Medal it was awarded during the World Class Manufacturing assessment.

 

Style

A thorough overhaul of the exterior and interior design, as seen from the modern and distinctive front end, standing out on which are the new bumpers and streamlined bonnet in harmony with the curve of the roof. New features on the light clusters too, front and rear, which develop harmoniously and elegantly, highlighting the horizontal path of the vehicle's lines, as well as being positioned high up to protect them from small impacts.

 

Seen from the side, the New Doblò is characterised by a line that runs along the whole side, lending dynamism and drive to the vehicle.  A certain flowing quality is instead provided by a continuous section running low down, from the front wheel arch to the rear, passing through the side strip. The extensive glazed surface too makes a great impression, enhanced by convenient sliding doors that make it even easier to settle on board.

 

Also making their contribution to the clean style of the side are the door mirrors, with integrated direction indicators. The large mirrors ensure optimum visibility and can, on request, feature electrically controlled folding. Finally, standing out at the side are the 16" alloy wheel rims or the new hub caps, while on the tailgate is a striking "logo holder" band in the same colour as the body, which lightens the overall line.

 

New Doblò customers can choose between 11 body colours including the new Colosseo Grey, which further enhances the harmonious form, lending it an appearance which is simultaneously elegant and distinctive. 

 

The style has also been updated for the interior, which was designed to offer great functionality, as well as the widest variety of personalisation, thanks to a combination of colours, materials and trim. Among the main new features is the new ergonomic dashboard, which, depending on the trim level, has a fascia with a colour that varies to match the seat and door panel trim. In detail, the Easy version features a new fabric trim which can be red or grey, depending on the customer's wishes (in both cases the dashboard is grey), while the passenger compartment of the New Doblò Pop is characterised by a shade of grey both for the fabric trim and the dashboard. Finally, the Lounge trim level offers two solutions: grey or beige dashboard and fabric.

 

Also new are the ergonomic steering wheel and the instrument panel, which is updated with clear, attractive graphics for reading all the information useful to the driver at a glance. In addition, it's easier to access the buttons for the Start&Stop, ASR and methane fuel supply (where present) systems on the new model.

 

This is all enhanced by many practical storage compartments, such as - for example - the front drawer which can hold a 10" tablet or the extremely useful "hood" - a convenient open compartment on the top of the windscreen - which also houses the baby surveillance mirror. In short, there's a real wealth of smart solutions for using the internal space to meet the needs of those who take the New Doblò and use it as a vehicle for life with family and friends.

 

 

Engine versions

The new model boasts one of the widest engine ranges in the segment. All are characterised by qualities of reliability, performance and respect for the environment. The petrol units are the 1.4 95 HP and 1.4 T-JET 120 HP, while the turbodiesels are the 1.6 MultiJet 90 HP (also with Dualogic robotised gearbox), the 1.6 MultiJet 105 HP and the 2.0 MultiJet 135 HP.

The offer is completed by the dual-fuel (petrol/methane) 1.4 T-JET 120 HP Natural Power, which ensures the same performance as the petrol version together with all the financial and environmental benefits offered by methane.

 

Versatility

The New Doblò heads up the category in terms of modular internal space, as demonstrated by the front passenger seat that can fold down to a table (optional) and those of the second and third row (in the case of the 7-seat configuration), which can be reclined and folded down easily thanks to the practical and ergonomic movement levers, or even removed completely, thus creating a truly extensive space the entire length of which can be exploited.

 

That's without mentioning the luggage compartment boasting category-leading dimensions: in the short wheelbase version, 790 litres are available (measured up to the parcel shelf), becoming 1,050 litres in the long wheelbase version. If the rear seats are folded down, the volume increases to 3,200 and 4,000 litres respectively: these are record values for the segment. And there's even more: contributing to the great flexibility of the New Doblò is the possibility of positioning the parcel shelf at several levels (it boasts a record capacity of 70 kg, no less).

 

 

Handling

The New Doblò is at the top of its class for dynamic performance, handling and driving satisfaction. Among other things, merit for this goes to the Bi-link rear suspension system - an exclusive for the model - which includes independent wheels, anti-roll bar, dual calibration rear shock absorbers (calibrated rebound and compression for the best in terms of handling, comfort, roll and stability) and high-performance springs to provide better damping performance on all roads.

 

One element which contributes to driving satisfaction is the improved gear lever manoeuvrability. Several technical interventions now have contributed to lowering the required effort and providing greater gear shifting accuracy. Furthermore, the interaction between available torque and pedal operation has been improved, to deliver more torque the action on the pedal being equal: the advantages for the driver are particularly obvious in normal conditions of use at low rpm and in city traffic.

 

Infotainment

On the infotainment front, the New Doblò offers two content levels according to trim level, both of which are sure to guarantee an exciting musical experience. The first system has an active matrix display, FM/AM radio, USB media player/iPod connection, AUX-IN port, automatically adjusting volume according to speed, Bluetooth technology (without voice recognition) and controls on the steering wheel (the latter optional).

 

The New Doblò also comes with the popular Uconnect 5" multimedia system already fitted on many Fiat vehicles. More in detail, the high-tech device is based on a 5" colour touchscreen, one of the largest of the segment, for accessing the main functions, which include analogue and digital radio (the latter optional) and multimedia resources (media player, iPod, iPhone, smartphone) which can be connected by USB port and AUX-IN connector.

 

In addition, the system includes an advanced Bluetooth interface to access additional functions, such as phone call management or reading received SMS text messages via text-to-speech technology, not to mention the innovative Audio Streaming system to play audio files and web radio stations directly from your smartphone in streaming via Bluetooth on the Uconnect device.

 

The Uconnect 5" system is completed by controls on the steering wheel and eco:Drive software to help save fuel and cut CO2 emissions. Integrated navigation developed in collaboration with TomTom is also available on demand.

 

Safety and well-being on board

In terms of safety, the New Doblò ensures total passenger protection by fitting state-of-the-art electronic devices for stability control, namely ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution), ESC complete with ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) and Hill Holder systems to help on hill starts. Safety equipment includes front airbags (side bags are optional) and tyre pressure monitoring system. 

 

Travelling in the New Doblò with its airy environment, pleasant surfaces, comfortable wrap-around seats and extensive glazed surface is always a great experience. The raised driving position and the ergonomic control arrangement make the space easy and particularly pleasant to handle.

 

The climate inside the passenger compartment is crucial for comfort on the road and is equally important for preventative safety, because temperature, humidity and ventilation all influence the driver's well-being and level of attention as a consequence. This is why the New Doblò fits a climate control system - either automatic or manual according to trim levels - with larger sized, elegantly shaped front vents and direct ventilation in the rear part of the vehicle.

 

Counting on a quiet passenger compartment for playing music or simply talking is important for stress-free driving. This is why new soundproofing material was used to make the New Doblò to improve the articulation index by 5 per cent in average (measured on diesel engine versions).

  • The latest addition to the Jeep family has achieved 85% ratings for adult and child occupant protection and 65% for pedestrian protection, with positive results in all main tests.
  • The safety device rating was 74%, thanks to the optional automatic braking system and the availability, as standard, of the speed regulator.
  • An even more significant rating, considering that from this year Euro NCAP has adopted much stricter access thresholds for the 5-star rating in relation to adult occupant, child occupant and pedestrian protection.
  • Contributing to the prestigious achievement are the "4x4 Small Wide architecture" and the many safety systems, provided as standard or on request, including 6 airbags as standard.
  • From last year, 5 EuroNCAP stars have also been shining for the New Jeep Cherokee.

 

The new Jeep Renegade is awarded the prestigious Euro NCAP 5-star rating with an overall score of 80/100, achieved 87% thanks to adult occupant protection, 85% thanks to child occupant protection, 65% thanks to pedestrian protection and 74% thanks to the driving assistance safety systems.

 

Thousands of hours of virtual simulations have permitted the development of the innovative "4x4 Small Wide" architecture - Renegade is the first FCA vehicle to adopt it - which offers a monocoque which makes extensive use of high-strength, ultra-high-strength and hot-pressed steels, with the final result of exceptional torsion resistance. The three load line front structure guarantees uniformity of response in the event of frontal impact regardless of the type of obstacle or vehicle the car crashes into.  What's more, despite the clear off-road vocation of the model, which is also expressed in the robust, square front end, the new Renegade ensures good pedestrian protection. 

 

The quality of the virtual design was then tested physically on the cars produced at the SATA factory in Melfi with 300 tests on components and subsystems, more than 100 impact simulations and more than 100 crash tests taking into consideration the various types of impact - front, side, rollover, rear-ending and pedestrian impact - as well as the various speeds at which they can occur and the various physical characteristics of the passengers. 

 

For comprehensive protection, the new Jeep Renegade comes as standard with 6 airbags (front for front passengers, side window bags for all rows, side bags for front seats) and ESC (electronic stability control) with ERM (electronic anti-rollover system). The safety equipment, depending on market and trim level, features as standard or on request, further important systems such as Blind-Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control (available from 2015) and ParkView reversing camera with dynamic grid lines.

 

One of the most innovative systems available on the new Jeep Renegade is the Forward Collision Warning-Plus (assisted braking system) - the first in the category in terms of reliability and precision - which uses radar and video sensors to detect whether the car is approaching another vehicle or obstacle in its path too rapidly. In these cases the system warns or assists the driver in order to avoid impact or mitigate its consequences. 

 

Finally, the Jeep Renegade can be equipped with the "Lane Sense Departure Warning-Plus" and "Blind-spot Monitoring" systems. The first uses the camera's optical sensor to establish the road position of the vehicle with respect to the horizontal markings present on the road surface. In the case of an unintentional lane change, which the system recognises if the vehicle changes trajectory without activating the direction indicators, a visual alert is issued along with a tactile signal sent by the electric power steering (EPS). If the driver does not react promptly, the system issues a second visual alert. The "Blind-spot Monitoring" system, on the other hand, uses ultra broadband radar sensors to assist the driver during lane changes, indicating the presence of other vehicles in blind spots by lighting up icons on the door mirrors and activating an acoustic signal chosen by the driver.

Decizia, care intra imediat in vigoare, are loc dupa adoptarea unui nou nume de catre grupul format in urma fuziunii, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, care a debutat la bursa din New York in octombrie.

 

Operatiunile din Italia ale grupului nou format, Fiat Group Automobiles, au devenit FCA Italy.

 

Chrysler, una dintre cele trei mari companii auto din Statele Unite, alaturi de General Motors si Ford, a fost fondata in 1925. Compania a fuzionat in 1998 cu grupul german Daimler-Benz, formand grupul DaimlerChrysler, dar a redevenit Chrysler dupa inversarea uniunii, noua ani mai tarziu.

 

Fiat a devenit actionarul majoritar al Chrysler in 2011, iar in ianuarie a dobandit controlul integral asupra companiei americane, intr-un acord in valoare de 4,35 miliarde de dolari.

Jeep was the Presenting Sponsor and exclusive automotive partner of the Rolling Stones' spectacular "14 On Fire" European Tour that ran from 26 May to 2 July this year and in which the flagship Grand Cherokee, the most awarded SUV ever and icon of Jeep's premium quality, played a key role. The series of concerts also provided an ideal occasion to preview the new Renegade.

 

The partnership between Jeep and the Rolling Stones has been further strengthened by another outstanding initiative of great social value. The vehicle in question was signed in Rome, against the spectacular backdrop of the Circo Massimo , on 22 June at the only Italian date of the tour. Special guest for the evening was the new Jeep Renegade, unveiled for the first time in Italy in the ancient Roman stadium following its international début at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. There could have been no finer a location for its Italian preview, given that Renegade is the first ever model in the brand's history to be built in Italy and the first Fiat Chrysler Automobiles vehicle to emerge from the collaboration of Italian and US designers.

 

Sold in over 100 countries around the world, US included, the new Jeep Renegade has unique personality and boasts class-leading off-road capabilities and 70 innovative safety devices.   • Jeep registrations in Europe have risen for 3 consecutive years, and last December was the 14th month of continuous growth, resulting in an overall increase of 70% in 2014.
  • Jeep was the fastest growing brand within Europe (source: ACEA data).
  • In December, the new Renegade is rewarded twice, by being awarded the prestigious 5 star Euro NCAP rating and recognised as the best-selling vehicle in its segment in Italy.
  • The first Jeep Renegade intended for sale out of Europe, mainly in North America, are leaving the ports of Europe.
  • The most successful Jeep initiatives in 2014 include the creation of the Jeep® Owners Group (JOG) and passing the milestone of 2 million Facebook fans.

 

2014 was a record year for the Jeep brand, both in terms of sales and for the initiatives and events supporting the commercial launches of new models in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Testament to this success is also the exponential growth of fans on the brand's social media sites: all Jeep official Facebook EMEA channels have reached a total of more than two million fans, with extraordinary year-over-year growth peaks in some countries (in Italy, for example, the number of registered followers has increased by 600%).

 

Record registrations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA)

The number of Jeep registrations in 2014 was unprecedented, increasing by more than 42% in EMEA and by 70% in Europe (EU-28 + EFTA), with record results in many of the main countries, notably France with a surge of 110%, followed by Italy with 95%, Belgium with 87% and the UK, which was up by 75%, and finally Germany, which recorded increases of 51%.

 

December represented the fourteenth month of consecutive year to year growth, both on a regional level and in many of the main countries (Russia, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and Switzerland, just to name a few).

 

Looking at the product, Jeep's success was driven by the performance of the flagship Grand Cherokee, which remained in the top positions in terms of sales throughout 2014 both in Europe as a whole, where it climbed by 3 positions compared to 2013, and in some of the main European countries, including Germany. In Italy, the Grand Cherokee occupied the top position in its segment for 5 months out of 12, including December, ending the year in second place overall. In addition, the Grand Cherokee was the second highest selling vehicle in its segment in Switzerland and Poland.

 

The first new entry to the Jeep family in 2014, the new Cherokee presented at the 2014 Geneva motor show, recorded its highest sales since 2008, allowing Jeep to double its sales in this segment and exceeding monthly registrations of the previous generation on an annual basis. The new Cherokee received multiple awards, among them the "Best Small SUV" awarded by the Car Of The Year Awards 2014 in the Middle East, and the recognition as the "SUV of the Year" by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers.                

 

Sales of the new Renegade - the latest addition to the Jeep family, which marks the brand's entrance in the compact SUV segment - started at the end of September in Italy and in October in the other main European countries. The Jeep Renegade immediately entered the list of the top ten best selling cars in Italy in its category and reached the top position in its segment in December.

 

From Salerno to San Diego: the first Jeep Renegade land in North America

The first Jeep Renegades destined for non-European markets (mainly North America) are being shipped in January. First from Southampton and Antwerp then from Salerno and Civitavecchia, the ships will sail to different destinations, with volumes that vary from 300 to 500 units for the smaller ships to almost 3,000 units for larger ships, with a sailing time that can vary between 2 and 3 weeks.

 

Five star Euro NCAP for the new Jeep Renegade

The new Jeep Renegade was also awarded the prestigious five star Euro NCAP, with a total score of 80/100, achieved mainly as a result of the 87% score for adult protection and 85% for child protection, and the positive results in all of the main tests. This prestigious recognition was also obtained due to the innovative "Small Wide 4x4 architecture" and to the most advanced active safety technologies, such as the "Front Collision Warning Plus" system, available for the first time in its segment.

 

Jeep® Owners Group (JOG) active in 9 European countries

2014 also saw the début of the Jeep® Owners Group (JOG), the only official group managed centrally by the brand. It is already active in 9 European countries. JOG is the "place" where the brand meets its Jeepers, the vehicles' owners and fans of the brand, and is integrated with the existing national clubs. The process of converting FGA Capital into FCA Bank began in 2012 and the Company applied for a banking license in December 2013, following the renewal of the shareholder agreement between Crédit Agricole, Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance and FCA.

The 27th edition of the "Winter Marathon" will be held from 22nd to 25th January in Madonna di Campiglio. This gripping regularity event for classic cars is one of the major events in Italy due to the number of competitors and the quality of the vehicles taking part.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the mountains of the Trentino Alto Adige region, the challenge will be between 120 cars built before 1968, plus a few additional models produced up until 1976, which made history in the rallies of the seventies. Among the stars of the event will be the 1963 Giulia TI Super from the collection in the Alfa Romeo Historic Museum, specially prepared to tackle this rally, which is as fascinating as it is demanding due to the weather conditions.  

 

The rally course winds for approximately 420 kilometres, climbing 11 Dolomite passes, four of them over 2,000 metres (Pordoi, Falzarego, Valparola and Gardena), and with no less than 45 precision time trials. In addition, the frozen lake of Madonna di Campiglio will be the scene for the two side events at the "Winter Marathon 2015": the "APT Trophy", a challenge where the first 32 teams enrolled will face direct elimination, and the "TAG Heuer Barozzi Trophy".  

 

The 1963 Giulia TI Super is the rarest, most prestigious of the "Giulia" models. This "ready-to-race" version was produced in only 501 examples, almost all in Hawthorn white with a Quadrifoglio, the four-leaf clover logo, on the side panels and boot. With its "slimmed down" body to enhance its already excellent performance still further, the "TI Super" was one of the race cars which nurtured an entire generation of drivers, who then moved up to higher formulas, allowing them to draw attention to themselves thanks to their victories and rankings behind the wheel of the Alfa Romeo saloon. Not by chance, the Giulia TI Super is particularly suited to road races, as it proved when it achieved its highest acclaim as first of its class in the 1963 "Tour de France Auto" with drivers Masoero and Maurin.

 

Technically speaking, the Giulia represented a benchmark in its class and raised the standards: the twin-cam, four cylinders and excellent dynamics of Alfa Romeo cars were matched by their bodywork which, according to advertisements of the time, "was designed by the wind".

 

To highlight the thread between the cars of the past and those currently in production, the precious historic example will be accompanied by the New Giulietta Sprint, the version which pays homage to the forerunner of an entire class of automobiles, the modern Gran Tourism, and one of the most emblematic products of Made in Italy: the iconic Giulietta Sprint of 1954.

 

In the fifties, it was actually the Giulietta which made the dream of owning an Alfa Romeo possible for the first time. Today, it's the turn of the new Giulietta Sprint to take over the baton, offering more dramatic aesthetic qualities, exhilarating performance and superior technological features.

 

The example taking part in the "Winter Marathon 2015" will be using the powerful 175 hp 2.0 JTDM2 engine combined with the innovative "Alfa TCT" automatic gearbox with twin clutch.

Abarth will be Official Sponsor and Official Car Supplier for the Yamaha Factory Racing team taking part in the FIM MotoGP World Championship. The two-year agreement will see the Scorpion logo on the front cowling of the official Yamaha YZR-M1 machines being ridden by the legendary Valentino Rossi and multiple World Champion, Jorge Lorenzo.

 

The official announcement of the two-year partnership was made today in Madrid, at the headquarters of the Telefónica Group, where the new livery of the YZR-M1 to be used by Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo in the 2015 World MotoGP Championship was revealed.

 

The Scorpion logo, synonymous with "racing" and symbol of a heritage of victories and passion which gave rise to the birth of one of the great sensations in the cult of modern motor racing, is placed on the nose of the two M1. To seal the partnership, the Abarth logo will also be visible in the Team's official communications and interview backdrops, as well as on all key team assets.

 

Abarth will also provide Movistar Yamaha MotoGP with a number of FCA Italy vehicles all over the world. The assault to the world title will begin in Qatar on 29th March and will deliver the World Champion in Valencia on 8th November.

A magical event just ended in London that offered a unique and exclusive experience to 1,000 invited guests, which included an astonishing live performance by Dynamo, the internationally famous magician with whom the Fiat brand has been working during the pre-launch phase of the new 500X crossover.

 

The performance, which took place at the iconic Copper Box Arena, located in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, was the result of three years of work and preparation by Dynamo. Participants at the event included journalists, bloggers and personalities from the world of fashion, entertainment and music, such as the singer MIA,Kasabian's bassist Chris Edwards and the star TV Nancy Dell'Olio.

 

Dynamo's latest performance is a unique blend of theatre, illusion and dance inspired choreography as the magician conjures up a mysterious energy (The power of X) live on stage.

 

The illusion culminates as Dynamo generates a 3 dimensional blueprint of the brand new Fiat 500 X and miraculously brings it to life in front of a stunned audience.

Fiat introduces the New Doblò, the "Active Family Space" designed to satisfy the needs of modern, dynamic families, ideal for use seven days a week, for work or for leisure, with no limits of space or use.

 

The new vehicle is the fourth generation of a model of which over one million four hundred thousand (car and commercial vehicle versions in total) have been registered since it was first launched in 2000 and which was renewed in 2005 and in 2010. Model overview

Presented today to the international press, the Nuovo Doblò Cargo, fourth generation of the Fiat Professional model, now more functional, with more performance and more value. These are the guidelines that allowed Fiat Professional to design a vehicle at the top of its class in terms of performance, functional characteristics, load capacity, productivity, fuel economy and low running costs.

 

On the heels of the world début at the 2014 Hanover Motor Show, the Nuovo Doblò Cargo is now available to the wider public with a completely updated interior and exterior design reflecting classic car-like specifications. To get an idea, take a look at the ultra-modern distinctive front end, the bigger front grille and the many new components (bumpers, bonnet, headlights and tail-light clusters).

 

A comprehensive update also for the passenger compartment, with new dashboard, fabrics, steering wheel, instrument panel graphics and door panels. Likewise, the functionality-driven configuration is visible in a series of specific ergonomic solutions, from the multifunction front bench seat for driver and two passengers, the quieter interior, the new infotainment and navigation sytems and the gateway device. Also, as in the previous generation the Nuovo Doblò Cargo's load capacity and volume are both at the top of the category.

 

The second aim in developing the new Fiat Professional vehicle was performance, as evident from the improved torque response during city driving (up to 40%). In addition, the Nuovo Doblò Cargo ensures the best handling and driving comfort in its class, thanks especially to the Bi-link independent rear suspension (exclusive contents for the segment). The range also extends to include the new "EcoJet" version - equipped with the 90 hp Multijet II 1.3 or 105 hp Multijet II 1.6 - which combines reduced running costs and low fuel consumption (improvement of up to 15%).

 

The major functional and performance evolution combined with development initiatives aimed at reducing the total cost of ownership (including all costs from purchase to sale) make the Nuovo Doblò Cargo reliable, distinctive and more valuable for Fiat Professional customers. Depending on the market the range is composed of 4 bodies (Cargo, Combi, WorkUp and Load platform), 2 roof heights and 2 wheelbases. Power is provided by a choice of six turbodiesel engines - MultiJet II 1.3 (75 and 90 hp), Multijet II 1.6 (100 and 105 hp), 90 hp Multijet II 1.6 with robotised gearbox and 135 hp Multijet 2.0 - plus three petrol engines: 95 hp 1.4, 120 hp TurboJet 1.4 and 120 hp TurboJet 1.4 bi-fuel (petrol/natural gas). The offering is the broadest in the segment, with versions and solutions from vans to special vehicles and versions converted for specific applications.

 

Scion of a winning model (Doblò has been chosen by more than 1.4 million customers since 2000), the Nuovo Doblò Cargo aims to consolidate its leadership in this market sector, which accounts for 25% of all light commercial vehicles in Europe.

Alfa Romeo and Fiat at the “Bremen Classic Motorshow”

The classic car show will open in Bremen, Germany on 6 February. Starring at the event as examples of the very best Italian design are four beautiful coupé models: the Alfa Romeo 2000 Sportiva, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale and the Fiat 8V.

 

The "Bremen Classic Motorshow", from 6 to 8 February, will be opening the 2015 classic car show season. Visitors to pavilion 5 may admire the special "Eleganza italiana" line-up starring a selection of prized Alfa Romeo and Fiat models, four of which from the museum collections of the two brands.

 

In particular, the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese (Milan) will be sending three sporty coupé models to the Bremen Classic Motorshow, like the exclusive 2000 Sportiva (1954) designed by "Nuccio" Bertone, of which only two were made, and the futuristic Giulia Sprint Speciale (1963). Focus will also be on the Giulietta SZ (1960) made by Zagato, the coachbuilder famous for his remarkably light-weight bodies: the rarest body variant, the one with the short Kamm tail created to optimise aerodynamics, will be on show in Bremen.

 

The spotlights will also be trained on an exclusive model owned by the Centro Storico Fiat in Turin, namely the only example of the 8V with fibreglass bodywork. The concept presented at the 1954 Turin Motor Show demonstrated the experience gained by the Fiat's "Carrozzerie Speciali" shop using this material, which was innovative for the time and had immediate benefits on the car's weight, and ultimately on its performance.

 

Alfa Romeo 2000 Sportiva (1954)

Franco Scaglione, who would go on to become a world-famous designer, considered the Alfa Romeo 2000 Sportiva that he had worked on for Bertone as his best result. Nearly at the same time as he was shocking everyone with the BAT concept cars built upon Alfa Romeo 1900 chassis, Scaglione was asked to design a Gran Turismo racing model fitting the engine of the 1900.

 

The designer presented two body types, the two-seater coupé (later named 2000 Sportiva) and a convertible version. Weighing little more than 900 kilograms when empty and with a short wheelbase, the 2000 Sportiva was very agile and easy to handle. The main structure consisted of a tubular chassis. The original 1900 engine was tuned and fitted with hemispherical combustion chambers. It delivered a power of 138 HP and propelled the coupé at a top speed of 220 km/h.

 

The rear suspension featured a sophisticated, innovative De Dion tube solution with a modern five-speed gearbox.

 

Only two Alfa Romeo 2000 Sportiva Coupé models were made: this one with metallised grey paintwork owned by the Alfa Romeo Museum and another one with red paintwork, which belongs to a collector.

 

It is worth mentioning that Scaglione would later design the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint and the legendary Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.

 

Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ "coda tronca" (1960)

The 1960 "Giulietta SZ" was made by Carrozzeria Zagato, time-honoured partner of Alfa Romeo, to allow gentleman drivers to race in the "1.3 litre Gran Turismo" category. The SZ was built on the chassis of the earlier "Sprint Speciale".

 

One of the peculiarities of the "SZ" is unquestionably its very light weight (740 kilograms for the second series) which together with an efficient aerodynamic profile allowed the car to reach a speed of 200 km/h, remarkable for a 1300 cc naturally aspirated engine.

 

The second series characterised by a Kamm tail delivers even better aerodynamic results and fits disc brakes.

 

Two hundred and ten models of the Giulietta SZ, counting both series, were made, of which 30 with Kamm tail.

 

Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale (1963)

The "Giulietta Sprint Speciale", better known as the "SS", was launched together with the "Giulietta T.I." in 1957. With strikingly futuristic looks, the SS has a twin cam 1.3 litre engine delivering 100 HP and could reach a speed of 190 km/h, establishing a new record in the 1.3 litre category.

 

The Giulietta Sprint Speciale body made by Bertone and designed by Scaglione is reminiscent of the "flying saucer" style of the 1952 "Disco Volante", and one of its most significant features is precisely its aerodynamics and their positive effect on performance. When the sporty, innovative, revolutionary Alfa Romeo "Giulia T.I." saloon was introduced in 1962, its 1600 engine was extended to the other models in the range, and the Giulietta SS thus became known as the "Giulia Sprint Speciale". Performance with the 1.6 litre engine was noting short of astonishing: the car reached 200 km/h.

 

Fiat 8V (1954)

The 8V coupé was the result of Fiat's plan to conquer market shares in the luxury car segment. Of course, an awe-inspiring engine, like an eight cylinder, was needed to achieve this objective. Technical director Dante Giacosa, who would be on the Fiat 500 designer team a few years later, picked a brand-new engine with four cylinders arranged at a 70 degree angle on a shared crankcase: the V-eight was ready. The coupé was perfect for the two litre category which was a popular racing choice in Italy at the beginning of the 1950s and according to Vittorio Valletta would appeal to the North American public.

 

The 8V introduced in 1952 was the first Fiat with independent suspension. Special bodies, which are perfect interpretations of the "Fiat-8V" theme, were made by the famous coachbuilders Zagato, Vignale, Siata and Ghia, in addition to the models crafted at the plant and designed by interior stylist Fabio Luigi Rapi.
